Oooh, I loved lap swimming. I did it for about 5 years. Then I switched jobs and my schedule didn't jibe with the Y. For years, I couldn't find an exercise I liked enough to stick with it and subsequently gained lots of weight. Waaaah! I've been going to Curves for the past few years. I like it, but not as much as swimming. It was invigorating AND calming, and I always swam faster when I had a bad day at work. Take all that frustration out on the water!

that picture is so frightening it's hilarious! and work-out? what's that? after staying up until 11pm to start wrapping presents, wake up at 1:30 to a 2 year old playing on the stairs, not getting back to bed until 3:30 am, getting to work by 8am all i can think about is going back to bed.

I too love swimming! I teach water aeorbics to a class of 40+ year old ladies and we have a ball! Playing in water good!
Also, take advantage of your puppy treadmill. Walks are good for both of you, but it does kinda suck in cold weather. If I don't get a walk in with my pups I love chasing them around our tiny yard spastically for about 10 min, that's fun cardio too!
You don't have to go "balls to the wall" right away. Just try 15min a day of physical activity, then next week 20, then next week go to the gym , or something. OK getting off my aerobics-instructor soap box...
but one last thought... I don't tell this to my 40+ ladies...
SEX IS A FABULOUS WAY TO EXERCISE!
hmm, maybe I should tell them :)

EYE ABUSE!!! EYEABUSE!!!
Personally, I took a medication that made me throw up every day, even after I stopped taking it. It affected my stomach so much that it changed my eating habits.
I walk more than before, but that's about all that's changed exercise wise.

I'm a crazed obsessive lap-swimmer. I do 3miles a week. You're welcome to join me anytime!
